“Setting Sun makes the sky sing in a thousand colours.”
– Unknown
At the time of the setting sun, when the path of light through the atmosphere is longer, the blue and green components are removed almost completely, leaving the longer wavelength orange and red hues we see at those times. The remaining reddened sunlight can then be scattered by cloud droplets and other relatively large particles to light up the horizon red and orange.
This painting is showing the scintillating hues visible on the horizon at the time of the Setting Sun. A cool snowy landscape on the foreground beautifully complements the warm colours of the sunset in the background. Akanksha has painted this wonderful landscape with acrylic colours.
Beautiful colours. 🙂
